If you answer maybe they could be like interesting!
I need money so yeah! thanks

The thing is that parents really don’t know any kids making money strategies other than what they were told when they were kids.

My son and I have made money selling back old video games to gamespot but the thing is that once you run out games, you run out of cash. Parents will only pay you so much to do the chores around the house.

Some stuff on the internet I read recommended new ways for kids to make money with google adsense. I think that you have to be 18 to have a google adsense account but you could work with your parents and open one in their name.

The plan would be to come up with a concept for a blog on a topic that a lot of people are searching for in search engines, write about those topics, place ads on your blog they can click so you can make money each time.

My son and I look for answers almost every weekend on how to work our way through video games we are playing and whole sites could be devoted to those topics. I saw a video on the internet were a girl was making $30 a day from adsense doing exactly that.

It would take some practice, but if you can write and have a computer, you could do the same thing and while you might not make $30 a day, any extra money you make would be a bonus. And once you hone your skills, you learn to make more.

I am thinking about being a foreign exchange student to Brazil. Their seasons are the opposite of ours. Their school year begins in the middle of our school year (February) and ends in November. How does that work for us? Do we just leave in the middle of the year?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! Your going to go to BRazillll???? That’s awesommmeee!!!! I am toooooo!!!!!!! LOL!!! What program? When are you going???

LOL

But anyway, this is your question…. Sooooooooooooooo:

There are two ways you can do it. If you leave summer departure in July (what I am doing) than you just start in the middle of their year, spend the summer with your host family, and then go back to school at the end of vacation. They will either put you in the same grade as you were, or after vacation, they may move you up, so you can be with the same people.

The other way, is to leave in the winter- January ish. You get there, and then you start with the rest of the school… however, then that messes up two of your school years at home..,…

I suggest a summer departure. That is what most people do!

Good luck!!!
And if you decide to do it, pleeeeesaaaseee contact me! I never see anyone else who is going to Brazil!!! lol.. ummmm my email is on my profile!!!

Yesterday, my family picked up our new foreign exchange student from Italy. I want things to go very smoothly and I want her to not feel too homesick. Any tips or advice on how to make this all work well? All will be appreciated.

i would suggest that at least once a week have italian food and the rest american or what ever you desire. show her around little italy so she can see if it’s anything like her home town, but also be aware that she came over here for a reason so don’t be afraid to ask her if their is anything she would like to see. i hope this works. good luck!

what are some fun kids to make money? between the ages 12 and 14. (obviously not like mowing the lawn or raking leaves. i already babysit and my parents don’t give me money for chores) like a real job or something to do like maybe you did when you were little. please help im in desperate need of money

There really is no way. Not for your age that’s fun. Unless you find babysitting fun. But if you want to pick and choose, here are legal places to work for your age(‘real’ jobs.):

12 years and up:

agriculture
golf caddy
casual employment (babysitting, lawn mowing, raking, shoveling)
fur farm
school lunch program

14 and up:

amusement centers
arenas
auditoriums
bakeries
ball parks
billiard halls
bowling alleys
golf course (caddy)
camps
car wash
clubhouses
coliseums
drive-ins
feed mills
garages
gas stations
greenhouses
grocery stores
gun club
hospitals (excluding personal patient care)
hotels
karting tracks
laundromats
motels
nursing homes (excluding personal patient care)
poolrooms
private clubs
resorts
restaurants
retail stores
roller skating rinks
schools(lunch program)
stadiums
tree trimming

Now some of these vary. Gas stations, for example, may hire you at 14 or 16. It depends on your state.

So I guess you;d just have to go through those. But if you’re too picky, that sucks, because that’s a pretty complete list of the legal places you can work.

Well I think having a foreign exchange student stay with me would be cool, so where can I look at foreign exchange student info, etc.? I think it would be really neat to host a foreign exchange student if my parents say it’s ok.

I commend you on your interest in this! I am a 5-time host mom and new volunteer with a program called Youth For Understanding (YFU). I could talk for hours about our kids! As the school year has already begun, the first thing that your family would need to do is find out if your school will accept an exchange student. Many schools have application deadlines in the summer for the fall semester but may take students for the spring semester. Talk to you counselor at school. (If you contact an exchange program, this will probably be one of the first things they do.) When my husband and I started hosting with YFU, the first thing we did was contact programs on the CSIET (Council for Standards on International Exchange Travel) list. YFU was the program that responded the most to our needs. Therefore, while there are several other reputable programs around, I can only speak for YFU. I suggest checking out their website (yfu-usa.org). It has a ton of information. You can request additional information through this site. You can also email me if you like. Some other interesting sites are:

YFU is also on FaceBook (as am I).
I hope this helps!
